Father Constantine has authored several books about the Emperor Paul, and is a noted expert on this topic. Prior to his lecture, at 5:30 p.m., a pannikhida (memorial service) for the Emperor Paul will be served in the Monastery Church of the Holy Prophet Moses.

Abbot Martin’s topic is “As Near as the East is to the West.” This Photion Circle session will explore the similarities between Orthodoxy’s Eastern Rite, and that which stems from St. Gregory the Dialogist in the 500′s, which was common in the pre-schism Western lands such as England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Scotland, the Netherlands, and others.

The Photion Circle will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the trapeza at Saint Nicholas Monastery. The following day, Thursday the 12th, at 9:00 a.m., Abbot Martin will celebrate the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom in the Monastery’s Church of the Holy Prophet Moses.
